We all know that people with red hair come in all different colors. We decided to show them all to you. From the strawberry blond all the way to dark auburn red they are all beautiful! We have identified seven different shades although dont worry we know that there is an infinate number between the two.

Have you ever wanted to get that natural red hair look without putting all of the potentially toxic and damaging chemicals? Try this home made recipe that is chemical free and easy on your wallet. Follow these seven steps and you can have that great red hair look. Your going to need a few items that you can pick up at any grocery store:

  • Rose hip or clove tea or black coffee
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • A Shower

This will work best on lighter colored hair, but even darker ones will work if you leave the product in for a little longer. Here are the instructions

  1. Brew the clove or rose hip tea, if you decide to use black coffee make sure it is a strong brew.
  2. Let the brew cool completely before use, you do not want to put boiling hot coffee on your head!
  3. Shampoo the hair to clean off any oils or grime and rinse well.
  4. Pour the mixture onto your hair, it is best to make sure the liquid does not land on any tile or shower curtains as it will leave a stain. Try and re-capture as much as the liquid as possible using a metal bowl. This method does not have the consistancy of regular hair dyes and will run through the hair quickly. Repeat this 10-15 times.
  5. Let the mixture sit in your hair for 20 minutes.
  6. Wash the mixture out thoroughly and then add conditioner and style your hair as normal.

Enjoy your beautiful all natural red hair!!

Robert-Pattinson-Red-Hair-Bel-Ami
Robert Pattinson has dropped his messy locks and went with a strong red hair look for his new movie Bel Ami. The movie takes place in 19th century Paris and his unkept hair just wouldnt do. The movie is about a young mans rise to mayor of Parios. Fans are excited about the new look but its not going to last for long. He starts filming his next film in May.

Fans are describing the look as “Hot and Sexy”

Lucille Ball
The Free press recently put a poll out to it readers to rate a list of 13 famous redheads from around the world to find out who the most popular was. While we definitely do not agree with the redheads that were selected for inclusion here are the results out of the 838 votes cast:

  • 1. Lucille Ball
  • 2. Molly Ringwald
  • 3. Carol Burnett
  • 4. Ron Howard
  • 5. Shaun White
  • 6. Peppermint Patty
  • 7. Sir Winston Churchill
  • 8. Garfield
  • 9. Ronald McDonald
  • 10. Prince Harry
  • 11. Nancy Drew
  • 12. Axl Rose
  • 13. Martin Van Buren

As much as i love “The Flying Tomato” i think its a stretch to put him above one of the architects of the defeat of the Nazis in World War 2. Nor do i think Martin Van Buren would have been anywhere near the top of any kind of real list. Unless the Van Buren gang shows up at your door and threatens to ruff you up if you dont vote his way (however you can get around this if you know the special sign).

Leave comments below and let us know who YOU think should be the most famous redhead of all time!

Rise of the Redheads? It may seem so because we are everywhere latley. Be it Karen Elson from the White Stripes, Ginger faced Conan O’Brian or Alan Mually the red haired CEO of Ford. Many people felt bad for their redheaded brethern when they were younger, but it seems to have changed.

Redheads have often been though of as stubbotn like Nancy Drew who never let a mystery win or sassy like Kathy Griffin or even adventurous like 2010 Winter Games gold-medalist Shaun White. Red-haired woman often get billed as sex symbols like Christina Hendricks, Ann-Margret and Julia Roberts. Its always been dissapointing to me personally that men with redhair never get such an honor. Could you imagine a redheaded member of the beatles? It just wouldnt have worked. Instead we get Carrot Top or Howdy Doody.

Hair colouring products are also releasing many shades stacked with reds. The Matrix Dream Age brand of hair dye has six of its 10 new colours made up of warm colours like gold, orange and copper. Some hair salons are even reporting a higher number of visits looking to turn their hair red. Aaron Micheal a stylist at Cole Street Salon in Birmingham says he now sees two clients a week that want to go red rather then the one or two a month a couple years ago.

If you’re feeling a little down, isn’t being a hot, sexy redhead a little more inspiring?

As you all may know, people have been saying for years that gingers are on their way out. Anne Lindsay is an artist from Seattle, Washington knows otherwise and has been taking photographis of every red head she can find for her upcoming book “Redheads and More Redheads”. She will feature photos and personal stories of people with any shade of red (so long as it is natural of course) from strawberry blong to auburn.

There are a lot of myths and folklore associated with this vibrant hue.

Lindsay has heard some strange stories in the process such as how we were once considered witches and burned at the stake. So far she has cataloged more then 65 people for her book but she is looking for more. She wants to feature 200 gingers in her new book and is calling on all redheads from around the world of any age or nationality to visit her website at annelindsayphotography.com and take part! She is paticularly interested in ethnicities that rarely have red hair such as African Americans, Greeks and Indians.

On May 14th she plans to host a redhead gathering which will include a slide show, photo exhibit and discussion about redheads as well as a talk on how to pursue ideas for books. Help this gal out and let her know your story!

Now this is an idea! There is a lot of weight behind the creation of “Kiss a Ginger Day” as opposed to the “Kick a Ginger Day” that was all in the news last year. There are a whole bunch of facebook groups popping up setting times and locations for us to all gather together en mass and show off our fiery red hair. If you can find one in your area i suggest you attend!

The best part is that this will be the 2nd Kiss a Ginger day this year! This new one plans to celebrate it in April, however one was first celebrated in January. I dont see why we need limit ourselves to one day though! Derek Forgie, a talent coordinator for MTV Canada recently created the first Kiss A Ginger Day group on facebook and was amazed by the attention it got. He said he started it as a “karmic counter-event” to the news coverage of a ginger child getting beat up by his peers in school last year. People all over the world ended up reacting to that event. An example of what they called “Gingerism“, or discrimination against gingers.

I hope that enough people do end up showing so that the rest of the world realizes that its not OK to “kick a redhead” or anyone else for that matter. People gota live to get along no matter what they look on the outside. Because we are all the same on the inside!
